Today we spent the Fourth of July unlike any year before! Today was a great day for our flight. We were up bright and early for 4:45 am PT (exercise) in our dorm hallway due to inclement weather. We had 45 minutes after PT to get ready for breakfast - a luxurious amount of time compared to previous days! We spent much of the day in different lectures, beginning to learn about Air Force customs and courtesies, proper wear of our uniforms, and what it means for us to be officers. We've really focused on the Air Force core values - "Integrity First, Service Before Self, and Excellence in All We Do." Today, Capt Galle did an admirable job as our flight leader, marching us to each location (we march everywhere!). Lt Pezel has done an excellent job these past few days as our guidon bearer (carries our flight flag in front of our formation. Capt Key and Lt Salmon were our element leaders (march at the front of our flight). These roles will switch throughout our time here so we will be comfortable with all aspects of marching. It's safe to say that we have a great flight of 16 individuals - all medical - and we already have a great sense of pride in our flight, and are fully committed to making these 5 weeks count. We know that our families at home are sacrificing just as much as we are, so we're not going to let them down.
Golf Flight in our flight room. What a good looking group of AF officers! |
Some of our flight took part in a little nighttime PT and were able to see some fireworks over the track. A great end to a great day!
